Hi Friends. What a busy weekend we had yet again. Between graduation, yard work, and family parties I feel pretty much exhausted. Friday night Miss Ashley graduated from High School- as Valedictorian! We are just so proud of her and how hard she has worked. I can't believe how much she has grown up and that in the fall she is off to college. We celebrated after the ceremony by going out to dinner with friends and family.
The rest of the weekend was full of lots of yard work. We had to get all of our flowers and vegetables for the backyard- as well as 40 bags of mulch! Yikes. We put flowers in our pots, tilled the garden, planted the garden, weeded the flower beds, mulched the flower beds, set up the front porch, and had a spontaneous fencing project. All of this and it was 90 scorching degrees. We just have a tiny bit of work left to do in the yard and then I think we are ready to move on to the inside of the house. It's crazy how yard work can feel very overwhelming. Thank goodness it looks so good when you are finished.
The hard thing about having so many projects and social commitments each weekend is that it never really feels like we have relaxed. I felt awful sending Nick off to work this morning- because he has been working all weekend. And I feel like we didn't get much quality time together, which is a bummer. Since school is finally over, we are going to do our best to reinstate our weekly date nights. I have missed them very much. Eight years ago today Nick and I went out on our very first date! So, we are going to plan a special night sometime this week to go out and celebrate the occasion. XO
