When Life Stands Still

Do you ever have one of those weeks? A week so full of "stuff" that you wonder how you made it through without banging your head into a wall?

Last week was one of those weeks. It started off normally with dinner with a dear friend. Tuesday I had a second interview for a potential new job (I am still waiting to hear back). Midweek came and went, things were going as planned. Then Thursday evening hit and life seemed to momentarily stand still.

We received a frantic phone call from Nick's stepdad, saying Nick's mom had been in a very bad car accident. We rushed to the ER, literally having no idea whether or not she was going to be okay. The entire family poured into the hospital. We prayed and we cried as we waited to hear her status.

A very long three hours later, she was released. Her car looked like it was hit by a semi...no driver side front or rear doors, and smashed in the front and the back....and somehow she managed to walk away with only some soreness and bruises. It was a true miracle. But it was one of those events that shakes you to your core. I am once again reminded of how much family means and how we should not take a single moment with family for granted!

The week ended fairly well. Our little town of Navarre hosted it's annual garage sales. Nearly the entire town participates and people flock in and mob our streets. We are lucky enough to live on a main street in town, so we got lots of traffic. This was the first time I have ever had a garage sale in my life, they always seemed a little intimidating to me. It turned out to be very fun and we even sold a few items that we just sitting around cluttering the basement! In fact, we made enough to pay for a hotel room memorial day weekend in Columbus! Woo-hoo, I am very much so looking forward to a little time away with my hubby!

I hope that your week is starting off well my friends. Remember to give extra love to the people God has placed in your life, because we never really know what each day will bring!

XOXO,
Anna
